Skënderbeu couldn’t secure a home win amidst the controversies in the Superior category match against Dinamo. Coach Ivan Gvozdenović stated that his team had a better first half compared to the opponents, but refrained from commenting on the opposing team’s penalty.
“In my opinion, we were better in the first half. They threatened early on, then we were better. As for the penalty, I won’t comment on whether it was justified or not. After the penalty, Dinamo delayed the game with many fouls. Later on, we tried everything with four forwards. This is football, but we will strive for more success in the future.
“In the second half, we didn’t have the opportunity to play football because Dinamo delayed too much. Even the extra time was only 5 minutes. Again, it was a tough moment in the game. Dinamo was calmer because they scored from the penalty and played for counterattacks. Dinamo switched to a 5-3-2 formation afterward. They defended strongly and then tried counterattacks.
“It was a setback for us when Franklin went out. In the first half, he made a difference. After the goal, Dinamo was stronger than us. That was the difference why we weren’t good in the first half. They stayed back a lot, and it was very difficult with a beautiful pass,” said Gvozdenović.
